This page shows the fit-out of the master bedroom on our barge Elessina. Elessina was built by Piper Boats at Stoke on Trent to a sailaway plus level, we completed the fit-out on our mooring at Port Medway on the River Medway in Kent. Elessina is 60 ft long x 12'-6" wide has a 12mm thick 5ft wide flat bottom with 8/10mm thick angled side chines and a Perkins 92hp engine.

then side and roof lined, with raised floor, and bow thruster (located to the right of the weed hatch.

Then with bed frame and front bulkhead lined.

Four photos of the same area (entrance to master bedroom, just outside master bathroom). 1st photo has the door frame in place, no side lining.  2nd photo has door in place, 3rd has the Side lining and partition in place (bathroom door just visible on the right). There will be cupboards to the left, in front of the door.

Latest photo (right), now with some doors on the bedroom cupboards.

View from master bedroom  with bedroom door and shallow (Ikea wall unit) bedroom cupboards

Master bedroom bedside cabinets under construction, with bed frame in between. Because of the bow angles, these take time to build, and are not Ikea base cupboards, although Ikea cupboards doors will be installed.

Lower part of quartered newel post against bedroom wardrobe corner (left).

Now installed (right)

Wardrobe doors (below) with shallow cupboard left and Newel post spindle feature on the wardrobe side right

All the doors are Ikea Kalsebo beech.

Now with Black Granite 'worktops', headboard and wave mirror above headboard. The bow thruster and weed hatch are now boxed in, but easily accesable.

The worktops are left over pieces from the galley and bathroom. We put them in place, they looked good, so we thought we may as well use them. It was not planned this way!, if fact most of the work tops had been taken off the boat and were in the garage waiting to be dumped, when we realised we had sufficient remaining.

Now with Mattress etc

Still some finishing off to do, but it will have to wait until autumn as we are going to enjoy the summer weather!!

We put spare pillow cases / towels over the windows at night! It works a treat.
