Dave and Heather have a Dutch Barge Style widebeam canal boat named 'Takey Tezey'.

They have their own blog, which follows the story of the two jolly liveaboards attempting to "take it easy" with a sprinkle of humour & wit that tells it like it is...!

Some parts of their blog are reproduced here......but their is a lot more on their own web site, including info on their barge fabrication.

How we got to where we're at...

In October 2007 we bought our widebeam canal boat called Takey Tezey, our dream was to sell our house & liveaboard. But since the credit crunch set in, this would only work out if we gave the house away...

So we were in a "crossroad" situ & made the decision to let the house out instead, it was not the ideal choice, but for us to stay there when we yearned to live on the boat was NEVER an option...!

This blog documents our story, changes we've had to make along the way, the successes (& failures) but most of all how to keep a sense of humour amid the variety of situations we've found ourselves in...

After 13 months of trials & tribulations things finally began to go our way & on 11th November 2008 our new tennant moved into the house & we "walked off into the sunset" as liveaboards...

We love the lifestyle, there are lots of challenges & things don't always work out right, but that's all part of the fun, after all what is life if you can't have a good laugh about it???

Living aboard is the next chapter for us & the blog lives on. Besides there's always something to talk about when you live on a boat...!
