 - Slipping Photos -

After a little over 3 years in salt water, Elessina was taken out of the water at Eel Pie Island Slip on 10th September 2007 for routine hull painting and replacement anodes. Some photos:-

Slip report on hull condition, what needed to be done, how long did it take and how much it cost.

Waiting to be slipped, the slip / building (Eel Pie Island Slipways Ltd)

is on the right hand side of photo

This photo shows the chine and old anode, after jet wash. The

redish paint is the primer.

We both worked very hard (Leigh with the random orbital sander, me with taking the photos!!). The red paint is the primer.... all the black Comastic had worn away at the bow. The waterline is the top of the red (prime) area, the rusty parts (yellow areas) are above the waterline.

This photo shows bow thruster tube and anode, after jet wash.

Our View from inside the slip building..... At high tide we had to stop for an hour or two, as the water covered the slip.... a little rest  was always welcome.

One of the old (Zink) anodes.

Nearly done.... All repainted, ready for launch, with

new Magnesium anodes

The Weed hatch plates, bow thruster left and stern right. I installed a new gasket / seal... worth remembering to take some material along, we forgot but fortunately the yard had some I could use.

Ready for launch, just awaiting the tide

Another view.... just prior to launch
